How Fast Is It?

A typical Midget Mustang powered with a 100hp Continental has a top speed of 190-200 mph at sea level.  At 75% power and 8000ft it cruises at 180 mph burning about 6 gal/hr with the Continental.  Many people burn auto gas with this engine.

With the Lycoming O-320 the airplane has a power loading just a bit over 6 lbs/hp.  It is a hot little airplane.  Top speeds are typically in excess of 230 mph and climb rates are well over 2000 ft/min.
